Webinar: Renewable Energy on Brownfields, July 31st, 2:30PM-3:45PM EDT

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 31st from 2:30-3:45pm EDT, the National Association of Local
Government Environmental Professionals (NALGEP) will host a webinar titled "Renewable
Energy on Brownfields: Latest Developments." Topics will include: online tools and
materials available through EPA's RE-Powering America's Land Initiative and an overview

Sustainable Communities HotReport WEBINAR - August 21, 1-2PM

Sustainable Communities HotReport: How well is your community performing on transportation, housing, economic development, income, and equity? Wednesday, August 21, 1:00 - 2:00 Eastern. The Sustainable Communities HotReport is a new web-based tool that gives community leaders and residents a quick and easy way to determine how well their community is performing on a variety of sustainability indicators, including transportation, housing, economic development, income, and equity. Produced by the U.S. Census Bureau and the HUD-DOT-EPA Partnership for Sustainable Communities, the tool can help communities measure their own performance and compare themselves to communities of a similar type. Speakers from EPA, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the Mid-America Regional Council will walk through the tool and help participants understand how it can be help communities achieve their sustainability goals. WEBINAR: Smart Growth #1 - July 24, 2-3PM Eastern

Join EPA's Smart Growth Program on Wednesday, July 24, 2:00-3:00 Eastern to discuss Our Built and Natural Environments -- how development affects human health and the environment, and land use and transportation strategies that can yield better environmental results. Dr. Melissa Kramer will provide an overview of the report, Our Built and Natural Environments: A Technical Review of the Interactions among Land Use, Transportation, and Environmental Quality. John Frece, director of EPA's Office of Sustainable Communities, will discuss how the report can be helpful to communities that are considering how and where to build.
